We’re Here for Your Eye Health & Vision

Eye problems can develop even if you see fine, affecting the eye’s internal structures. You may not even know you have a problem because many eye diseases can develop with limited, if any, symptoms. Because eye diseases can develop symptom-free, visiting your optometrist is the only way to identify these issues early.

Our team uses diagnostic technology in every eye exam to identify symptoms of eye diseases in their initial stages. The earlier we diagnose a problem, the sooner we can recommend a treatment plan that meets your ocular needs. We’re here for your eye health and vision, helping protect it from further damage.

Common Eye Diseases

While you can develop eye disease at any point in life, the risk increases with age. Natural eye changes can increase your risk of eye problems and lead to visual issues. However, regular visits to your optometrist can help identify changes in your vision.

Our team is here to identify eye disease as early as possible, lowering your risk of vision loss. We test for eye diseases during every eye exam.

Some common eye diseases include age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.

Age-Related Macular Degeneration

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a disease that affects your central vision, the things you see directly in front of you. It typically occurs with age, slowly causing your macula to lose the cells needed for sight.

There are 2 forms of AMD: dry and wet. Each version of AMD requires different treatments.

Cataracts are a common age-related condition where the eye’s lens becomes clouded. Proteins and fibers break down and clump together in the lens, causing it to become opaque.

As cataracts progress, you may struggle to see and complete daily tasks. Many patients need cataract surgery to see clearly again.

Diabetic retinopathy is a vision-threatening disease for patients living with diabetes. It occurs when high blood sugar causes the blood vessels in the retina to swell, break, and leak fluid and blood. As this disease progresses, it can lead to further complications, including vision loss.

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that damage your optic nerve, the part of the eye responsible for sending signals to your brain. Glaucoma can lead to severe vision loss if left untreated, and you may not even know you have glaucoma until vision loss occurs. This disease can develop symptom-free, making regular eye exams essential for protecting your vision.
